Shooting the breeze with Breezie

As most of you already know, we lost our Coonhound named Bear in August of last year.  He is still missed and always will be, but we have decided to get another puppy.   We will be making a trip to Ohio sometime this summer, the new puppy hasn’t been born yet, but we have another Coonhound coming from a reputable breeder in Ohio.  It will be another male, just like our Bear.  I am somewhat apprehensive over the idea of having a puppy to train, but looking forward to having it here none the less.

Its been more than 5 years since I had my prescription eyeglasses changed, I can still see fairly well out of my current glasses, but they are pretty scratched up. I bought one of those carbon pencils that is suppose to make the scratches less noticeable and it does work, but only to a certain extent and it doesn’t get rid of the deeper scratches.

So I am thinking that its just time for me to schedule another eye exam and get a completely new prescription for glasses.

Well I am happy to report that I woke up this morning to SILENCE and as they say…silence is golden. I haven’t had a minutes peace for 3 weeks with this latest thing to hit me.

Today I have a cracking/popping sound in my head, its not frequent and since I have been awake now for a few hours, I can hear the humming again, but its at a really low frequency.

I started to take Stress tabs yesterday, since their main ingredient is the B vitamins, and I also started to take 60mg of prednisone on a daily basis, since it is reported to calm the Tennitis down as well, especially in the case where its reacting to inflammation and or sinus problems.

So right now I am happy that my Chiropractor once again is right and that this Tennitus is only temporary and it will go away.

Garage Sales seem to have started early this year. The papers are already just completely full of listings. I like to check out the sales that are reasonable close to me. So Saturday I gave my friend a call and we hit 2 of them in the town where she lives. I didn’t find to much, I don’t buy just to buy, but if I find a good deal and its something that I truly need, then I will buy it.

Do you remember the old type tv stands that you purchased in sets of 4? I found a set that had only 3 tables left with it and they are wooden trays, they are old and have some rings on them, but she only wanted $5 for them and it was a deal I could not pass up. So I brought them home and cleaned them up with some oil soap and they look great. Just gotta love garage sales.

I have read so much information involving my recent onset of “Tennitis”.  My Chiropractor guarantee’s me that it is only temporary and that it will go away, but its also not going to go away over night. 

I have been cautioned about so many things, things like caffeine, chocolate and even diet supplements that contain Fentraphen.

I have been told to try to avoid stress, since its stress that seems to have been the trigger for it. Right now I am keeping a log, the ringing is constant, but the degree of it varies a great deal.

The night time is the worse, daytime there are other noises that help to distract from the constant ringing.

I have to start therapy on my shoulder next week, since its a mess and causing me a great deal of pain and I do think that is where the Tennitis is also coming from, because the pain causes a great deal of stress as well.

The up’s and down’s of aging, and trying to age gracefully can become quite tasking at times.

2 years ago, I started to experience vision disturbances, found out they where called Ocular Migraines and most and likely would eventually lead to full blown migraines, which of course they did. But with the help of the Chiropractor, the vision disturbances, as well as the migraines have not become worse. So then along comes vertigo, which made life really fun for awhile, I had to be careful not to move to suddenly or I would go into what I called the spin cycle. So its back to the Chiropractor and adjustments and therapy and the vertigo started to back off.

About 2 weeks ago, I noticed my jaw was sore and it rotated down my jaw and around to the back of my neck and up to my ear, and being that I have extensive shoulder damage from a whiplash injury, and a pinched nerve that doesn’t give me much peace anymore, I knew what the problem was. So I went and was adjusted again, which got rid of the pain to a certain extent, but now I have this annoying ringing in my left ear….so I guess this is called Tinnitus. The doctor told me to keep either moist heat of ice on it, which ever worked and felt the best.

So they say things come in 3’s…so I am hoping that this is it now for me for awhile.

I have been making a few phone calls to travel agencies checking for good deals to go to DisneyWorld, the best deal so far has been through priceline.com. I contacted a few local agencies, but they don’t seem like they are able to compete with some of the bigger travel places.

I am starting to think that some of them might be passing along information to other agencies, because we are getting phone calls on a daily basis that involve anything travel related, and that even includes people trying to sale us travel insurance.

I am just happy right now that we have caller ID and can screen the calls.

This winter just seems like its never going to end doesn’t it?  Today was the nicest day we have had here for what seems like ages.   I am just so ready for spring right now.   I need to catch up with some friend who I haven’t seen since December, we talk on the phone, but I haven’t been venturing far from home this winter at all.
