The ForumFinder Forums.
September 13, 2008 10:12 pm GeneralForumFinder was originally launched in November of 2005, and just relaunched once again in August 2008.
ForumFinder was originally set up as a phpbbfm forum, I took over ownership of Forumfinder in early 2006. Most of the original staff came with me, but things were about to change once again.
In March of 2007, I added a blog to the domain, and then the forum was pushed aside, not knowing what I really wanted to do with it, but I did know that I didn’t want to delete it, since it was still getting a pretty good flow of traffic.
The original idea behind ForumFinder was, and has always been, to provide its members with a way to promote their blogs, sites and forums and do so for FREE.
In late 2006, a traffic exchange ForumFinderPLUS was added to the services provided. The exchange is part of the VS-TrEX network of exchanges, and it has turned out to be a huge success for the ForumFinder members.
ForumFinder at one time was a PR3, but thanks to my getting involved with “paid blogging”, that PR was lost in October07, and that fateful date, is something that is now referred to as the “Google Spank”.
A few Stats are: Alexa:58,806
August stats: pageviews: 59.649, which I feel are pretty good, considering this was our 1st month since being revamped and relaunched.
Features:
ForumFinderPLUS - Traffic Exchange
ForumFinder - Top List Service
Comment Exchange - A group participation effort to increase comments and drive traffic.
Comment Crusaders - A group of dedicated members (11), and growing on a daily basis. NOTE: This is a private group, once you participate in the daily comment exchange’s, you will then be automatically added to this group.
$25 Montly Banner Drawing just place our 125×125 banner on your site and be entered….its that simple.
The above list is only an example, of what ForumFinder offers its members.
The August revamp took ForumFinder in the direction of Social Networking. With the addition of several sites, such as Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Propeller and several others. We offered the members a place where they could promote it all with just a click of their mouse.
Over the years, as ForumFinder has continued to grow, we continue to strive, in order to bring the best there is to our members.
You will find the Staff at ForumFinder, to be very efficient. Always willing to go the extra mile to give the members a helping hand.
Staff Members are: Fords8(Site Designer/Admin), JustJulie(Admin), MKWeb(GM), CristleGirl(GM), Breezie (Site Owner)

“Smoking in the Rain”
Two old ladies were waiting for a bus and one of them was smoking a cigarette. It started to rain, so the old lady reached into her purse, took out a condom, cut off the tip and slipped it over her cigarette and continued to smoke.
Her friend saw this and said, “Hey that’s a good idea! But, what is that thing you put over your cigarette?”
The other old lady said, “It’s a condom.”
“A condom? Where do you get those?”
The lady with the cigarette told her friend that you could purchase condoms at the pharmacy. When the two old ladies arrived downtown, the old lady with all the questions went into the pharmacy and asked the pharmacist if he sold condoms. The pharmacist said yes, but looked a little surprised that this old woman was interested in condoms, so he asked her, “What size do you want?”
The old lady thought for a minute and said, “One that will fit a Camel.”
poor,poor Camel

Just got my first view of the forum now that it’s not totally locked. Looks like a good idea. I’ve always been a big fan of forums as a means of traffic and gaining / sharing knowledge.
All the best,

I@Bloggeries, I figured I would open up all sections, except the marketing section, and it seems to have been a good idea.
The forum continues to grow on a daily basis, and I think we will be reaching the 400 member mark at least by the end of the month.

Hi Breezie! At last I see your blog - it’s VERY pretty!
I am interested to know in what other situations would a blogger be “Google-spanked”? Cos I always thought that paid blogging is alright as long as what you’re paid to blog is in theme with what you’re already blogging.
I know (for sure) if I have a blog about wordpress themes and I blog about something unrelated to wordpress themes, it actually diffuses my page rank. Does it also mean Google will spank the rank?
Anyone - please feel free to clear my confusion!
breezie :

Hi Kelly, google frowns upon paid blogging that doesn’t use the “no follow” tags. They view it as selling links.
The google spank revolved around the members of payperpost, and it happen in October of 2006.
You can blog outside your chosen theme category, and not be in fear of a google spank.
And as far as paid blogging, Google still is not in favor of Payperpost.com, but there are several other paid to blog companies out there that Google has no problems with.

Thanks Breezie for the info!
I have never used NOFOLLOW tags for my comments since my blog was page rank 1. And it went to page rank 3 in 2 months. That is what mpuzzles me cos my blog should be penalised (in theory!) Not only this, I never use Google’s Adsense for my blog! (May be not having Google adsense ads is some form of immunity against the spank?)
