I have always loved to hit the stores like Kmart and Walmart right after the holidays. I have found some really great deals in previous years, this year has been just as good.
I took my holiday money today and headed for the mall in Indiana. I am looking for a nice laptop case, which of course I didn’t find one that I liked, but I did find some really nice Samsonite luggage which I picked up for my son and his birthday in March. He does a lot of traveling with his job and he is always borrowing my luggage, so I figured he might like his own. And if he doesn’t like it, then I will just keep it…lol

In February of 2006, my brother in law Tim Solomon passed away after an 18 month battle with pancreatic cancer. After his death, we would find out about the writings of Tim, and what a truly great writer that he was.
His wife Beverly had told us that she was going to have something done with his writings, and we had not heard anything more since that time.
So on Christmas Day I was handed what I knew was a book, but had no idea that I was unwrapping
“From The Heart” by Timothy H. Solomon

From The Heart was published in June and it is now available at Amazon.com
This book is so full of inspiration, it gives you a look into the mind of a truly wonderful man, a man who was loved by everyone that knew him, a man that set an example for all to follow.

Ok, as most of you already know, I have been trying to drop a few pounds in the last few months, I have been avoiding weighing myself because its just not a good idea.
I just judge by the way my jeans fit, I can actually get into some of them again that had just become to totally uncomfortable for me.
Hubby has been ordered by his physician to drop around 20 lbs and he opted to try a fat burner and there was no talking him out of it.
So we headed to GNC today and he got a powder that is dissolved in juice. I tasted it tonight and it taste pretty darn good, I just hope it helps him.

Years ago, we used to buy most of our animal supplies from a local privately owned store. They used to send us flyer’s on a weekly basis. I had not thought about them in years.
Yesterday in the mail, was a flyer, I was surprised to see that they are still even in business, especially with the economy being so bad.
We don’t have any dogs anymore, but we still have a few cats as well as way to many chickens.
They had a nice line of things for horses, including english saddles which sort of surprised me, since I don’t think they would be a high demand item, at least not around here. But with the price of just one of those saddles, I guess its worth the risk of it setting until it might be sold.

Well, I got a really early Christmas gift from my son of a Compaq Presario Notebook.
This is my 1st EVER brand new computer, and I am loving it, I actually had no idea what I was missing and its really nice to be able to multitask without the problems that I had been experiencing with an outdated windows 2000 computer.
I just need to get a wireless router and a laptop sleeve now. I have been looking online for a green laptop bag, I need one for a widescreen and they are really hard to find.

A few months ago, our Salem developed a really bad skin rash. I took him to the vet and he gave me a salve called “Dermalog” to rub on the sore areas. But its been a constant battle and one that we can’t seem to be able to gain any ground on. About the time that his back started to heal up, he started to drag his butt on the floor, so back to the vet he goes again and we found out the sores moved to back of his legs, so he is on prednisone now and the Vet told me that Salem needs to lose around 5lbs…lol
We bought food from the vet to help with the skin condition and hopefully aid in weight loss, I think Salem needs some sort of diet supplements to help with everything as well. He even drinks bottled water now, and he will turn his nose up at the tap water.
I would just like to see all the sores and scabs leave him, I know he is miserable with the itch.

I would imagine that like most, that you too will be cutting back on your holiday spending this year. I know that we have cut way back, back as far as what we can. Just to many none planned spending emergencies and then #1 son was laid off last week, hopefully he will return to work in Jan, which is what the company is claiming. But as always, the timing just really is bad for us all. I am not even sending out any cards this year, and that is a 1st time ever that I haven’t.
I have around 4 gifts to purchase yet, and I am not going to be able to spend over $100 for a combined total.
As much as I enjoy the holidays, I will be just as happy when they are over.

This time of the year, I end up with a spider spinning a web on my front deck and then I get a few daddy long legs that prefer the warmth of the house to the outdoors. But yesterday, right smack in the middle of my living room rug, I seen a pretty nice size spider, but it vanished before I really got a good look at it.
I think I am going to be buying a brown recluse spider trap now, just in case that is what it might have been.
My cats used to be good at exterminating spiders, but I don’t have any cats at my place anymore, I moved Salem in with my son, so now the mice and the spiders are having a field day.

I had an older computer here, it was so old that it still ran window’s 3.1. I also had a box of misc items which included speakers, and a few hard drives.
So I put it on Craigs List and I think I must have received 50 calls on it so far. It was gone within the 1st few phone calls, and I got a good price out of it all, actually better than what I expected.
I still have another box with other misc. computer stuff in it, stuff that I am not even sure what is really is. I hope it brings as good a price as what the 1st box did.

I am thinking about holding a garage sale in the early spring. We have a auto body repair business that has been shut down for years, and there is probably a minimum of $20,000 in tools in that garage.
I was thinking about Ebay, but the shipping would cost way to much, so someone suggested a garage sale because tools and especially air tools that are still in good shape, they bring in a fairly good price.
I might even try and auction to unload compressors and the heavier equipment used for frame work.
